Geography Of Arghakhanchi District

The district is situated between 27'45"N to 28'6" N and 80'45" E to 83'23"E.The district covers a total of 1,193 km² area. It is bound by Palpa in the east, Gulmi in the north, Kapilbastu and Rupandehi districts in the south and Dang and Pyuthan in the west. 68% of its landscape is located in Mahabharat range and 32 % is located in Siwalik region.

The major rivers of the district are Bangikhola,Bangsari Khola, Mathurabesi Khola, Banganga Khola, Durgakhola, Sitakhola, Khakabesi Khola, Rangsing Khola, Ratne Khola, Jhimruk Khola, Khankbesi Khola etc.. The major lakes of the district are Thada lake and Sengleng lake.
